Always amazing sandwiches. The bread is insane it is so good, the people working there are fun, kind, and seem like they actually care. Whether you dine in or order it for delivery i've always been impressed. Best bahn mi in nashville no doubt.

We visited East Nashville only to try this Banh mi place. We ordered for the popular No 1 Banh mi and Veggie banh mi. This place bakes their own baguette so you can taste the freshness in every bite. I love the pickles and my veggie banh mi outstanding in terms of flavor with eggplants and crispy tofu. The No 1 Banh mi was filled with various deli meat, which they brine and prepare themselves. Since it was a hot summer day, we also ordered for a peanut rice milk, which was alright, perhaps too nutty for my liking. The service was fairly quick so we didn't have to wait hungry for too long. The only complaint that I had was the ambiance, it seemed a little shabby, with flies everywhere and an uncleaned table, so we bought a takeout and devoured the sub at the comfort of our home.

First time visiting here, so wasn't really sure what to expect. I had heard great things, so I wanted to give it a try. This establishment was small and seems to be women ran. At least on today the ladies were holding it down in the front and back of the the house. It very chill with a quiet environment. Several areas to eat inside if you should choose to dine in. I opted to get the Pork Banh Mi sandwich. I will give this 4/5. My biggest complain is that the bread is way too hard. I feel like I have cut the roof of my mouth trying to bite and chew it. The pork had quite a bit of fat left on the meat which means as I took a bite I would come across chewing up slimy fat. The toppings that come on it are very light and refreshing. The longer stemmed cilantro caught me by surprise, but it added to the freshness of the slaw that comes on it. The overall sandwich is very flavorful and filling. You won't go wrong with ordering it. The salted plum limeade was really good and refreshing. "Salted" but not salty. More sweet than salty which is a great thing. Their limeades are seasonal, so definitely ask about which is in season if you should go and visit. 5/5 I will definitely be back to try something else.

Finally made my way to East Side Banh Mi (sadly took me four years!). They recently updated their interior and it's so pretty inside, with booth seating as well as barstools along their glass windows. There's parking in front of the restaurant but I parked on the street for ease (free street parking FTW!). Decided to try their seasonal limeade which was blood orange. This drink was incredible! Refreshing and delicious! A true 10/10! I also got the shrimp spring rolls, which were really fresh but didn't wow me. The banh mi though, was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I've had outside of Vietnam. I tried the pork but want to order the steak next time. My other favorites were the sweet potatoes, which come with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Don't skip the chocolate chip cookie, either! I got one to go and it was a damn near perfect cookie. Slightly crispy on the outside, slightly salted. So good! I can't wait to go back and see the great staff, who made sure I was well taken care of during my visit!

Rich. Crunchy. Fresh. Tasty. Bougie! Sheer Excellence!! My order was the #1! It's a Pork Bahn Mi Vietnamese Sandwich. I also had an Asian Side Salad to go along with it. It was delivered to my hotel from Uber Eats. Both were excellent! I hadn't had a Bahn Mi since I left California for Chattanooga, and I thought I never would! In fact, I haven't been able to find a Vietnamese restaurant in Chattanooga since I left! But that was before - in Chattanooga - where foodies literally die of starvation! Enter the Nashville food scene and we're talking all kinds of great food for foodies. Nashville is foodie heaven and I'm here for it! The first bite of that 8" Bahn Mi took me back! That crunch they get on those baguettes is tremendously satisfying! I always say it's the bread that makes the sandwich, and it's so true! The bread was crunchy, chewy and delicious! Inside East Side's #1 Bahn Mi they put Roasted Black-Pepper Caramel Pork Shoulder, spread with a tasty Fried Shallot Mayo, then add a mixture of Pickled Julienned Vegetables, consisting of Carrots, Cucumbers, and crowned with a grip of Cilantro and Sliced Jalapeños, and Maggi. Maggi is that Umami-rich soy sauce-like flavor. They don't skimp on the veggies in their sandwich but it was a tad light on the amount of pork shoulder. On the Uber Eats app, you have the option of adding 'extra meat' for $3.95, and Pate' for $1.25, so there's that. I found my Bahn Mi perfect the way it was although I might try it next time with extra meat. I was pleasantly surprised with my Side Salad and ate half of it the next day for breakfast. It was sooo crunchy, fresh and good! This Side Asian Salad consisted of Farm Greens, Pickled Veggies, Herbs, and Fried Shallots. The Citrus-Soy Vinaigrette was also very good. The most impressive takeaway from East Side Bahn Mi is that you can tell they take pride in their food by giving us the freshest and most tasty ingredients that are available to them and then they put together something so delicious! Since freshness is of utmost importance, you cannot go wrong with anything you get. *****FIVE FABULOUS STARS!!!!!*****

Food 5/5: my sandwich was BIG and enough to eat in two portions. The flavor was on point and then read was soft. My spring rolls were amazing too--and the sauce to pair was yummy. I would order this exact meal again and try more sandwiches on the menu. Service 5/5: it was easy to order and the cashier was friendly. I waited inside for my meal to be prepared and when it was ready another employee hand delivered it to me while I was seated (a nice touch). Ambiance 4/5: it's a cool casual restaurant and pleasant enough to dine in. I told a friend about this place and she ordered the same day and loved her sandwich, so much that she took her guy there a few days later! I am looking to returning.
